
Does anyone have any advice on getting over anxiety dissorders?
My anxiety disorder is ruining my life and my family. It all started a year ago when I had my daughter. I have panic attacks every time I see anything that flies (including wasps and bees, but have never been bothered by them earlier) and became his agoraphobia. Iv been waiting for an appointment to cognitive-behavioral therapy for the months (and have been chasing it up) I literally cannot get out house unless the rain or dark. I have not even taken my daughter to the park yet!. Its cause huge strain on my marriage and my husband has threatened to leave me as we We can not go anywhere. He apologizes after hes said it but it is difficult for us all. Does any1 have any advice, while Im waiting for my therapy. I a book called "Book of the anxiety and phobia, but I do not know much about this and what I understand has not helped. Im getting pretty depressed right now.
First of all, I know how horrible it is to be on the waiting list. It takes forever to boot up the courage to ask for help and when you are still waiting months Later, as everything is completely counterproductive. What happens in CBT is that the psychologist will help you through your phobia. The two of you set tasks for you to challenge your phobia and show that their fears are unjustified. I suppose you could start this process yourself by establishing itself really small tasks. For example, you scared just thinking about things that fly? If so, why not try to images of a wasp, and continue to this until you realize that you do not have to be afraid of an image in your mind? (I do not know what her extreme phobia.) I'm sorry it is taking so long for you and was having a terrible effect on his family, though her husband has to realize that even when started CBT, it will take time for you to get beyond of your anxiety disorder.
